The Nest Summary

The Nest by Alan Wilkins

'The Nest' is a bothy close to the mountain called Sgurr Mor in the West Highlands of Scotland, providing sanctuary for climbers. For Colin and Helen, Sgurr Mor is their final peak in the Munro range - number 284. They've spent six years ticking them off - and trying to piece their marriage back together. The Nest is also where Mac and Jackie meet for the first time: he in the middle of a continuous walk of all the Munros, she without a map, compass or sense of direction And for Innes and Elspeth the mountain exerts the strongest pull of all, because this where their journey ends...Premiered by the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, in April 2004, The Nest is a first play by Edinburgh writer Alan Wilkins. After Edinburgh it will tour the Highlands and Islands, including venues within reach of Sgurr Mor itself.
