Books by Anne Marsh Caldwell

Anne Marsh-Caldwell's literary career, stretching from 1834 to 1866, was as prolific as her work was undeniably popular. Over the course of thirty-two years she was published twenty-nine times, both novels and serious histories, in several countries, and in many languages. Described as part of a 'sisterhood' of writers of the age, including Jane Austen and Maria Edgeworth, she remains the 'most earnest of storytellers', a writer who could 'plunge beneath the surface, probe the mind, and the heart'. Of this expansive list, Chronicles of Dartmoor was her final work, written at the age of seventy-five, and marking the final chapter of a distinguished life's work.
