Books by Barry Davies
Barry Davies joined the Welsh Guards in 1962 and experienced his first taste of combat with the Guards in Aden. It was during this conflict thet he first encountered soldiers of the army's elite SAS Regiment. Amazed by their seemingly casual professionalism and hugely intrigued by the air of mystery which surrounded these soldiers. Barry volunteered for SAS selection at the earlist opportunity. He was destined to spend 18 years in trouble spots all over the world. In recognition of the part he played aiding a German special forces team storming a hijacked Lufthansa airliner in Mogadishu in 1977. Barry was awarded the British Empire Medal. Since leaving the regiment Barry has written several books including The Complete SAS Survival Manual, SAS: The Illustrated History and more recently four SAS Survival guides - Desert, Mountain and Arctic, Jungle and Essential all published by Virgin (August 2001)
