Books by Doreen Beer

Doreen Beer was born in Devon and has spent her life there, surrounded by green fields and rolling hills in the lovely Exe Valley, with glorious moorlands and beaches quite near, a natural habitat for poetry to seed and grow. Her first book, Poems from a Devon Village (1977), was a real success and a second edition was printed, followed by Poems from the English Countryside and then Through Nature's Voice. Doreen has always had a close affinity with the wide variety of flowers, birds and trees throughout the county. During the years spent as a carer, both for her husband and later her mother, writing has been a helpful and calming relief for her. The beautiful village church, where she and her two daughters were christened, confirmed and married, has been an important part of her life, enriching her faith. As a former chorister and flower arranger, she has exhibited paintings and other crafts in the annual Art Festival each year.
