John Holmstrom: In 1975 John Holmstrom founded
Punk magazine. Its hand-lettered graphics inspired many other fanzines, launched the punk rock movement and helped create 'Punk Art', a short-lived movement that inspired the East Village art scene a few years later. Holmstrom later started the comic 'zines
Comical Funnies and
Stop! and designed posters, t-shirts as well as record, book and CD covers, and contributed to dozens of publications such as
Bananas,
High Times and
Heavy Metal. He's currently working on
The Best of Punk Magazine for Harper Books.
Ian Shirley lived and pogoed his way through British punk rock and has been buying records and watching bands ever since. He is an experienced music journalist whose feature work and reviews appear in respected magazines such as

Goldmine. He was written the biographies of Bauhaus and The Residents as well as the definitive tome on the links between comics and music:
