Tim Machin taught History and Politics at Bedford School over 3 decades. He was an Open Scholar in Modern History at St Edmund Hall, Oxford. Recently retired, he has been working on the diaries that are the basis of this book, and has just started work on another project to do with the 1st World War.His wider interests are cricket, hockey and jazz.
