William Cane is the pen name of Michael Christian, who teaches English at Boston College. He is the author of "The Art of Kissing, "which has been translated into seventeen languages, and "The Book of Kisses. "Since 1991 he has lectured at colleges and universities around the world on subjects of kissing and hugging. He lives in Brookline, Massachusetts.
