Set in the Lebanon, England and the Nevada desert, this is a novel about the violence caused by religious fundamentalism, the birth of a prophet, and the nature of time. The story is told through the eyes of four people, each of whom is affected differently by the religious and political turmoil.
Carl Gibeily was born in the Lebanon in 1966, into a Maronite Christian family. After school in Beirut, he read Engineering at Cambridge. He has worked as an engineer in South Africa, sold Mars Bars in Dubai, and now edits Arab/English dictionaries in Beirut. Blueprint for a Prophet is his first novel.
