The Lost Buildings of Frank Lloyd Wright: Vanished Masterpieces by Carla Lind
Five hundred buildings by Frank Lloyd Wright were built during his 70 year career. One-fifth of them have now been demolished, burned or destroyed by neglect - from the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo to the innovative Larkin Administration Building in Buffalo, New York. Apartment buildings, houses both large and small, retail spaces, holiday colonies, garden structures, garages and monumental high-profile commissions have all been lost to future generations. This book asks how and why each of these buildings is no longer standing. It is arranged thematically, with chapters on houses, apartments, businesses, recreation and travel.
