Painting Water in Watercolour Summary

Painting Water in Watercolour by Christian Wharton

Learn how to capture the translucency and energy of water in paint with this beautifully illustrated guide. Whether it is the focus of a watercolour painting or part of a wider landscape, water is the element that has the most immediate eye-catching appeal. Capturing it on paper, however, is not always easy, and the variety of subjects and atmospheres to be painted - from furious energy and speed to placid stillness - can put off many from attempting. Christian Wharton's many years of studying and painting water have led her to realise that the approaches to the subject and preparation are as important as putting brush to paper. In this inspiring book she uses finished paintings, sketches and step-by-step projects to help you organise your compositional and observational skills, as well as demonstrating the technical side of painting the glory of water in watercolour.
