An Anglican Companion Summary

An Anglican Companion: Words at the Heart of Our Faith by Christopher J. Cocksworth

An accessible mainstream resource book, designed to nurture the faith of ordinary Christians. It collects together the most important texts in the Anglican tradition - from the very familiar Lord's Prayer and Creeds, to prayers and poems (including George Herbert and even our own David Adam and Janet Morley). Most of the texts are arranged by theme (eg choices, work and pain), but some are included in a simple office for daily prayer. The text has been approved by representatives from the House of Bishops as well as from the Liturgical Commission and the Board of Education have been on the steering committee.

About Christopher J. Cocksworth

The material has been compiled by Alan Wilkinson and Chris Cocksworth, but the material is not their personal selection. Rather it is a result of the recommendations of different groups in order to give as wide an appeal as possible.
