About Daniel L. Schacter

Daniel L. Schacter Professor of Psychology at Harvard University, USA. His research has explored the relation between conscious and nonconscious forms of memory and the nature of distortions and errors in remembering. Schacter has received many awards, including the Harvard-Radcliffe Phi Beta Kappa Teaching Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the Troland Award from the National Academy of Sciences. He is the author of Searching for Memory and The Seven Sins of Memory, both winners of the APA's William James Book Award. Daniel T. Gilbert Professor of Psychology at Harvard University, USA. His research on affective forecasting examines the mistakes people make when they try to predict their emotional reactions to future events. Gilbert has won numerous awards, including the Phi Beta Kappa Teaching Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the American Psychological Association's Distinguished Scientific Award for an Early Career Contribution to Psychology. Daniel M. Wegner Professor of Psychology at Harvard University, USA. He studies problems that can arise when people try to control their thoughts and actions. Author of White Bears and Other Unwanted Thoughts and The Illusion of Conscious Will, he is a member of the Board of Reviewing Editors for Science magazine. Bruce Hood (adapter of Psychology) is Professor of Developmental Psychology in Society at the University of Bristol, UK. He has been a research fellow at Cambridge University and University College London, a visiting scientist at MIT and a faculty professor at Harvard.
