Religious Experience Today: Studying the Facts by David Hay
Over the past few years a change has been taking place in the knowledge of the religious or transcendent experience of the British people. Modern research shows that between half and two-thirds of the adult population of Britain believe they have had an experience of this kind at least once or twice in their lives. It is also thought that people are reluctant to admit this. In this book, the author gives an account of a variety of research in the USA and Australia as well as the UK, and of how he sees these findings affecting the understanding of religion in the UK and its implications for the Churches and for religious education.
