Redheaded Nona Conrad has just come into the town of Home, Arkansas, to do some food shopping when she bumps into a well-dressed stranger who grips her arm with frightening aggressiveness and calls her by name. She brushes him off, but on her way home to the fishing camp where she has recently taken a job as manager, she sees the stranger again as his car passes her on the road.
