This work is a chronology of 40 years of political controversy in South Africa and, where applicable, surrounding countries, which covers the development of apartheid, the collapse of colonial government in Rhodesia, Mozambique and Angola, the rise of the ANC and the debate over constitutional change and the homelands policy. Each entry gives a day-by-day account of political developments which enables the reader to pinpoint where and when an event took place and also to discover the context in which it arose.
