This novel continues the saga of the family on Coppins Bridge, on the Isle of Wight. When Walter dies, Jane has to replan her life. She sells her shop and moves to a larger house where she helps look after her grandchildren. The other novels in the series are "The Shop on Coppins Bridge", "The Family on Coppins Bridge" and "Out of the Dust".
