This is a biography of the man who became known as the Master Fellwalker. It charts his story from humble beginnings in Blackburn, to being Borough Treasurer in Kendal, looks at the compiling of the unique pictorial guides to the Lakeland Fells, his exposure in the mid-80s with the television series, and his death in 1991. It also includes sections of Wainwright's own writings and letters.
