For a book of around 1,200 pages, Programming .NET Windows Application is remarkably low on chaff. Indeed, if you want to go beyond the basics of standalone application development with .NET, this is one of the best books on the market. I personally find it more useful even than Petzold's much admired programming Microsoft Windows with C#. - PC Plus, Spring 04
