Summary
George IV's visit to Scotland in 1822, was the first by a British monarchy for nearly 200 years. The author goes behind the pomp and ceremony and reveals the prevalent hypocrisy, greed and deep-seated resentment felt. He also wrote "The Highland Clearances", "Glencoe" and "Culloden".
