Each book provides information on the importance of mental maths and managing mental maths lessons, the range of strategies the children might choose from for counting and ordering numbers and for each of the operations, advice about appropriately sized numbers to use, and a selection of easily-adapted model activities for practice and discussion. Each book ends with a small number of photocopiable pages to support specific activities and a writing frame to facilitate self-evaluation.
