The World Since 1900 by Josh Brooman
Through a range of primary sources and questions and assignments, pupils are encouraged to explore first-hand and in-depth major themes and issues in 20th century world history. The sourcebook can be used either on its own as a documentary history or to accompany the second edition of Tony Howarth's Twentieth Century History: The World Since 1900. It aims to encourage independent thought and discussion, and to encourage pupils to evaluate and use the evidence for themselves. The range of sources, which includes memoirs, diaries, newspapers, dispatches, oral evidence, photographs, cartoons, printed ephemera, jokes, songs and propaganda have been selected for their human interest as much as for their value as documentary evidence.
