In recognition of the huge success of the police drama series 'The Bill' and the popularity of one of Sun Hill's most charismatic and toughest cops, DCI Frank Burnside, whose recent return has been an enormous hit, is to be the subject of a six-part special crime thriller, to be broadcast in addition to the twice-weekly 'Bill' episodes. To tie in with this, Kate Lock has written a factional story which sees Burnside investigating a sex scam, as well as corruption within the criminal justice system, in his own mean and moody way. Publication is timed to coincide with the transmission of the first episode of the series.
