Martin Waddell has twice won the Smarties Book Prize - for Can't You Sleep, Little Bear? and Farmer Duck (also Winner of the British Book Awards: Children's Illustrated Book of the Year), as well as the Best Books for Babies Award for Rosie's Babies and the Kurt Maschler Award for The Park in the Dark. Other titles include Who Do You Love?; The Hollyhock Wall; Owl Babies; Tom Rabbit; Webster J. Duck and many stories for older readers. Penny Dale has illustrated three other stories by Martin Waddell - Once There Were Giants, When the Teddy Bears Came and Rosie's Babies (shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal), as well as her own stories, Bet You Can't!; Wake Up, Mr B! (shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal), The Elephant Tree; All About Alice; Big Brother, Little Brother; Ten in the Bed; Ten Out of Bed and Ten Play Hid-and-Seek. She is married with a teenage daughter.
