About P. Stewart Hastie, BVMS MRCVS

Stewart Hastie was a graduate of the University of Glasgow and worked as a veterinary surgeon for 74 years. He was intimately associated with many aspects of the equine world, most notably hunting, eventing and racing. He was Veterinary Advisor to the Society of Master Saddlers and received the British Equestrian Trade Association's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. He sadly passed in February of 2018. The British Horse Society education system is one of the best and most widely-respected in the world. The BHS Career Pathway gives each student the opportunity to gain qualifications and awards in their chosen profession. They have been specially developed, through extensive consultation with the equine industry, to combine the latest research and thinking with current practices and friendly assessment methods.
