John Rosthorn worked first with Proctor & Gamble Ltd, then moved to ICI Pharmaceuticals Division in its medical and animal health operations. His main field of work was international marketing. At MBV he also wrote Four Years in the Life of an Enterprise Agency, started the Acorn Association Small Business Club and ran, in collaboration with Cheshire County Council, the `Venture House` managed workshop. Andrew Haldane was a lecturer an management science at North Staffordshire Polytechnic majoring in marketing and represented a political party in local council work. Edward Blackwell was a consultant on small business affairs. A former accountant, he ran his own business for many years, and so was well placed to offer advice. He was the author of several Kogan Page books. How to Prepare a Business Plan is his best-known title and has, since its first edition, been translated into several languages.
