Sigurd is a young Icelandic man who is fostered to a relation and works hard at being a farmhand as well as training to bear arms. His life is disrupted when he is outlawed from his homeland for killing a neighbour's son in an act of self defence. His adventures begin when he joins with a Norse army to fight against the High King of Ireland, Brian Boru.
