Vocabulary Skills by William Edmonds
This is a collection of lively, photocopiable activities designed to help children to experiment with choices of vocabulary and to use a wider and more varied vocabulary during their work in English as well as other curriculum subjects. Activities should help them to think about authors' choices of words, to use dictionaries and thesauruses, and to think more carefully about the words they are using in their own writing, considering appropriateness to context and audience. Chapters include: vocabulary recognition, vocabulary construction, vocabulary at work, vocabulary research, vocabulary selection, expressive vocabulary, specialist vocabulary and vocabulary round-up.
