It includes an interview with Adam Szymczyk and an essay by JanVerwoert.Olowska has had solo exhibitions at Tramway, Glasgow (2010); Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich (2009-2010); DAAD Galerie, Berlin (2008-2009); and Portikus, Frankfurt (2007).
A tribute to Elisabeth Wild's kaleidoscopic and vibrant collages, with contributions that frame the importance of this singular artist's work and life.

This beautifully designed monograph exhibits Elisabeth Wild's kaleidoscopic and vibrant collages. Using cutouts of commercial imagery from glossy magazines, Wild composes a dimensionless reality that is witty yet menacing, ancient yet immortal. Imagining figures that are structural and anatomical, her work presents a shimmering dream logic. Wooden totems and stone altars, woven rugs, and precious stones are the cosmic architectural inhabitants that unveil the artist's fantasies. Along with Wild's collages, this volume includes contributions by poet Negma Coy, curator Adam Szymczyk, art educator and writer Barbara Casavecchia, art historian and critic Noit Banai, and gallerist Karolina Dankow of Karma International, all which frame the importance of this singular artist's work and life.

Born in Austria, Elisabeth Wild (1922-2020) fled to Argentina during WWII with her parents. In 1962 the family escaped the regime of Juan Peron and found a new home in Basel, Switzerland. Wild opened an antique shop at St. Johannstor which became the outlet for her creativity at the time and also supported her and her family financially. Until her death at the age of 98, Wild was carefully crafting her light-hearted, joyous abstract worlds walking the line between construction and deconstruction. Alongside her daughter, Vivian Suter, Wild has exhibited at Kunsthalle Basel, documenta 14, and the Powerplant in Toronto.
Pawel Althamer is responsible for some of the most expansive artworks of the past decade -- expansive not in the traditional, physical sense but in the social and experiential sense. For Other Voices, Other Rooms, an extraordinary art-and-architecture project, curator Adam Szymczyk invited international artists to engage with the building’s architecture and institutional context. The resulting works by Ross Birrell (Scotland, UK), Banu Cennetoğlu (Turkey), Zehra Doğan (Kurdistan, Turkey), David Harding (Scotland, UK), Hiwa K (Germany, born in Kurdistan, Turkey), and Daniel Knorr (Germany, born in Romania) were on public display in the building in 2021, before the police moved in. Only David Harding’s contribution has remained as a permanent and publicly accessible artwork, a text installation that is now embedded in the concrete floor outside the building’s main entrance. However, the entire process of the project was documented by Zurich-based photographer Melanie Hofmann. A selection of her shots is also permanently connected to the building in the shape of screen prints on interior walls. They bear witness to its past life and preserve the spaces of thought created by art. Through images and texts, this lavishly designed book offers insights into a unique art project that responds to the challenges and potential of art and building in a way that is as consistent as it is productive.
