He graduated from Houghton College in 1972 with a BS in Biology, and then graduated from Physician Assistant training at Albany Medical College in 1977. After serving for over thirty years as a Pediatric PA, he returned to school and graduated from Northeastern Seminary with a MA in Theology. He served as the pastor of a small non-denominational church for six years before retiring in November 2015.
