While the ER main conference covers a wide spectrum of conceptual modeling research, increasingly complex real-world problems demand new p- spectives and activeresearchin new applications.The ER workshopsattempt to provideresearchers, students, andindustry professionalswitha forumto present and discuss emerging hot topics related to conceptual modeling. We received 13 excellent proposals for workshops to be held with ER 2008. We accepted the following seven based on peer reviews: 1. The Second International Workshop on Conceptual Modeling for Life S- ences Applications (CMLSA 2008), organized by Yi-Ping Phoebe Chen and Sven Hartmann. 2. The 5th International Workshopon Evolution and Change in Data Mana- ment (ECDM 2008), organized by Fabio Grandi. 3. The 4th International Workshop on Foundations and Practices of UML (FP-UML 2008), organized by Juan Trujillo and Andreas L. Opdahl. 4. The First International Workshop on Modeling Mobile Applications and Services (M2AS 2008), organized by Fernando Ferri, Patrizia Grifoni, and Maria Chiara Caschera. 5. The Second International Workshop on Requirements, Intentions and Goals in Conceptual Modeling (RIGiM 2008), organized by Colette Rolland, C- son Woo, and Camille Salinesi. 6. The Second International Workshop on Semantic and Conceptual Issues in Geographic Information Systems (SeCoGIS 2008), organized by Esteban Zim anyi and Christophe Claramunt. 7. The 5th International Workshop on Web Information Systems Modeling (WISM 2008), organized by Flavius Frasincar, Geert-Jan Houben, and Philippe Thiran.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":49769122070801,"sku":"CIN0984316914VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ WELL_READ \/ SBYB","offer_id":50375814512913,"sku":"CIN0984316914A","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50375816511761,"sku":"CIN0984316914G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/0984316914.jpg?v=1751078873"},{"product_id":"creating-dual-language-schools-for-a-transformed-world-administrators-speak-book-virginia-p-collier-wayne-p-tho-9780984316939","title":"Creating Dual Language Schools for a Transformed World: Administrators Speak","description":"Over the last decade great investments have been made in the acquisition of enormous amounts of gene sequence data from a diverse collection of org- isms. Realizing the full potential of these investments will require the continued development of computational tools for comparative genomics and the intel- gent application of these tools to address biologically relevant questions. The RECOMB Workshop on Comparative Genomics (RECOMB-CG) is devoted to bringingtogetherscientistsworkingonallaspectsofcomparativegenomics, from the development of new computational approaches to genome sequence analysis andcomparison, to the genome-wideapplicationofcomputationaltools to study the evolutionary dynamics of prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes. This volume contains the 19 papers presented at the 6th Annual RECOMB-   CG workshop held during October 13-15 at the Ecole Normale Sup  erieure, in Paris, France. The papers selected for presentation and published in these p- ceedings were selected from 48 submissions from scientists around the world. Each paper was reviewed by at least three members of the Program Committee in a stringent and thoughtful peer-review process.","brand":"WoB","offers":[{"title":"US \/ WELL_READ \/ SBYB","offer_id":49785794789649,"sku":"CIN0984316930A","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":50369605173521,"sku":"CIN0984316930G","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false},{"title":"US \/ VERY_GOOD \/ SBYB","offer_id":52105887580433,"sku":"CIN0984316930VG","price":0.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0784\/4072\/6801\/files\/0984316930.jpg?v=1751299865"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.worldofbooks.com\/en-au\/collections\/author-books-by-wayne-p-thomas.oembed","provider":"World of Books ","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
