Book Quality

All books on our website are used. They are surplus books purchased from charity organisations throughout the UK.

Many of these books were sent to landfill before World of Books became involved and now we re-home and recycle over 18 thousand metric tonnes of books a year.

What condition will my books be in? We offer three grades of quality – Very Good, Good and Well Read. The description of what these grades mean is on our book condition guide.

Every book is screened and graded for condition, then if it meets our strict selection criteria it is offered for sale and we re-check the quality before sending it to you.

If a book does not meet our strict selection criteria we do not sell it on the site and it is recycled. No book is wasted.

Delivery and Shipping

How much are your delivery costs? Standard delivery is absolutely free for any orders delivered within Australia. Standard shipping takes 8-10 working days but if you live in an outback area please allow an extra couple of days.

Do you offer faster shipping rates? We don't at the moment. But hope to offer this in the future.

Can I change my delivery address? Yes, you can change your address anytime during the checkout process but not once your order has been placed. This is because the very next day after placing your order we quickly locate it in our warehouse and dispatch it to you within 48 hours.

Do you provide order tracking details? We don’t currently have an order tracking facility available but this is something we are planning for the future.

Where is my order? If you have set up an Account the current status of your order is displayed in your Account Dashboard, however if you have placed an order as a Guest this facility is not available. You can always contact us if you have any concerns using the contact form available on the website found here.

Payments and Refunds

What payment methods are available? We accept all major credit and debit cards (excluding American Express), you can also pay via PayPal.

If I buy more than one item, will be they be shipped at the same time? While we do try to keep orders together, to ensure the quickest possible delivery we may sometimes split your order into multiple packages.

What is your refund policy? At World of Books we want your experience to be enjoyable and hassle free. If you do have any concerns within 30 days from purchase please contact us first by clicking here and give us the opportunity to sort out any issues to your satisfaction.

Will I receive an invoice showing the GST paid with my order? You will receive an order confirmation with your book but not a sales invoice.
