An Afghan Journey by Roger Willemsen
Only a few months after a 25-year-long war ended in Afghanistan, Roger Willemsen accompanied a friend on her journey home: from Kabul to Kunduz, through the legendary steppe to the river Oxus, the boundary to Tadzhikistan.Roger Willemsen began his career as an novelist, foreign journalist, academic, and critic before launching his own television show, Willemsens Woche ('Willemsen's Week'). He's also worked as a documentary filmmaker and producer since then. He's published several books, including one based on conversations with former Guantanamo Bay detainees.
