Dilip Sarkar has been fascinated by the Battle of Britain since he was a boy, and the narrative of Churchill's mythical Few, those young airmen who stood between freedom and a Britain governed by Nazi Germany, continues to move and inspire him. He has written almost twenty books on the subject, including The Battle of Britain: The Photographic Kaleidoscope ('An excellent book,' LADY BADER), Bader's Tangmere Spitfires ('A highly painstaking and carefully researched account,' JOHNNIE JOHNSON, the RAF's best scoring fighter ace in WW2), and Fighter Pilot ('This book deserves to attain success,' DAME VERA LYNN). Dilip was awarded an MBE in 2003 for his contributions to aviation history, and in 2006 he was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Historical Society. He is a Worcester resident.
