Welleran Poltarnees considers himself to be a typical, if uninteresting, member of the human species. The majority of people would disagree with his assessment. Poltarnees devotes his entire life to the pursuit of the unforgettable image. This takes him to a never-ending barrage of garage sales, auctions, libraries, flea markets, and antique shops. He has amassed a large collection of old and modern picture books.

He travels a lot and is always looking for something. Poltarnees collects elephant-related items such as plastic charms, Jai-alaina, wooden rulers, fabric animals, and children's card games, among other things. He is the father of seven children, each with a unique name. He feels more at ease in a suit than in casual attire.

He like the rain, wears a hat most of the time, and attends over a hundred classical music performances each year.
