Cardinal Basil Hume has spent 50 years as a Benedictine monk and, to celebrate, this text looks at the man, his achievements and his vocation. Carolyn Butler is 33 years old, has a First in Theology from Edinburgh University, and spent the early years of her career working in radio for the BBC. A member of the Council for Christians and Jews, she most recently worked for the Catholic Media office. She is married with five children.
