Battle for the Park by Colin Dann
Another saga in the lives of the animals of White Deer Park. Plucky the fox and Dash the hare know nothing of the troubles which will soon shake their close community. The author won the Arts Council National Award for Children's Literature for his novel, "The Animals of Farthing Wood".Colin Dann was born in 1943 in Richmond, Surrey. Before gaining a career in publishing at William Collins in London, he worked for a huge textile company. At this time, he published his debut book, THE ANIMALS OF FARTHING WOOD, which was an instant hit, receiving the Arts Council of Great Britain's National Book Award for Children's Literature and being translated into sixteen languages. Six sequels and a prologue followed, and in 1992, BBC television broadcasted a major animation series based on the Farthing Wood story. He and his wife live in a house on the Sussex/Kent boundary.
