He is best known for The Beetle: A Mystery, a supernatural thriller published the same year as Bram Stoker's Dracula and initially more popular. Heldman attended Eton College and Oxford University. Some of Marsh's novels were released after his death. Richard Marsh (1857-1915) was the pen name of Richard Bernard Heldman, a British author.
