Bones of Contention by Paul Chambers
As the fuss over Darwin's Origin of Species was getting heated, a fossil was found in Germany. Christened Archaeopteryx, half bird, and half reptile, it was hailed as the missing link. This is the story of a remarkable fossil and the lengths to which people will go to prove themselves right.
Paul Chambers has a PhD in Micropalaeontology and worked as a researcher at the Natural History Museum for two years. He now works for the BBC Science Unit, where he was involved in the hugely successful series Walking with Dinosaurs and is now working on its sequel. He lives in Hertfordshire.
