George Bradshaw was an English cartographer, printer, and publisher who lived from 1801 to 1853. He is most known for creating a set of railroad timetables and guidelines. The booklets became synonymous with their publisher, and a railway timetable was referred to as a 'Bradshaw' by Victorians and Edwardians alike. 'Seldom has the vast mind of man been expended upon a work of greater service,' declared Punch magazine after Bradshaw's death.
