Britain by Tony Wheeler

This guide to travel in England, Wales and Scotland features: accommodation listings; transport information; historical background of each region; information on architecture and the arts; and information on walking trails, cycling routes and national parks.

Tony and Maureen Wheeler founded travel publication Lonely Planet after a trip along Asia's hippie trail in 1972, and the New York Times called him the trailblazing patron saint of the world's backpackers and adventure travelers. Wheeler was instrumental in the development of Melbourne's Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing, and Ideas, as well as the Planet Wheeler Foundation's work on more than fifty projects in the developing world.
