Brother Andrew (Andrew van der Bijl) was born in Sint Pancras, Netherlands, and attended Glasgow's WEC Missionary Training College. He began smuggling bibles behind the Iron Wall to Christians in 1955. Brother Andrew lives in the Netherlands when he is not traveling. His work has since evolved into Open Doors International, a global nondenominational missionary organization.
