Catscape by Mike Nicholson

Fergus can't believe it when his brand-new digital watch starts going backwards. Then he crashes (literally) into gadget-loving Murdo and a second mystery comes to light: cats are going missing all over the neighbourhood. This book was the winner of the Kelpies Prize. Sharply and wittily observed, it's a story of unlikely friendships, unexpected allies and cat surveillance.

'A well-paced, entirely convincing mystery novel, full of suspense, wit and unexpected twists and turnsBeautifully written in a clear, accessible style with plenty of direct speech and detailed description, it is an excellent, gripping yarn for anyone over 9 years old.'
-- School Librarian

'This delightful, whimsical story will appeal to children of all ages. It is well written without being condescending, and the plot is unusual and quite gripping.'
-- Stockbridge & New Town Independent

'I thought the story was great... I would definitely recommend it to my friends because it is such a good book.'
-- Annie, age 8, Peebleshire, Scotland

'A ripping yarn and beautifully plotted. A real boys-own adventure story.'
-- Catherine Forde, author of Fat Boy Swim

'What starts out to be a bit of fun soon develops in to a dangerous adventure. I really enjoyed the plot and would recommend it to younger readers.'
-- Hannah, Broughton High School

'I really enjoyed this book... I think I would probably enjoy another one of Mike Nicholson's books.'
-- Rachael, Teen Titles

'I liked it because it was a mystery but it was also quite funny. I would recommend the book to anyone.'
-- Emma, Teen Titles
