Michael J. Collins was born February 22, 1895, in Leeds Yorkshire England. The son of Irish immigrants, he eventually made his way to America. Little did he know that journey would lead him on another that would include military service in World War 1 and settling in NYC to raise a family. He passed away on June 2nd, 1984 in Suffern, NY at the age of 89. Although he has left this world, his family has the wealth of poems, limericks, and essays he penned for all us throughout the years. He was a tough but gentle man who told it like it is. His amazing talent for the written word and his worldly wisdom vastly overshadowed his grade school education. The children's book The Alligator and the Ducklings is being released at the family's request. Not only is this book a testament of his unconditional love for his family and will be cherished through generations, it is a testament of the unconditional love his has for him.
