Cliff Jones by Cliff Jones

Cliff Jones was a key part of Tottenham's famous and much-loved Double winning side of 1961. Tremendously quick, a great crosser, and a brilliant header of the ball, Cliff was considered to be the best left winger in the world in his pomp. This is his story. Charming, engaging and always smiling, Cliff is still a well-recognised figure at White Hart Lane where he works as an ambassador for the club.
Jones, Cliff: - Cliff Jones was born in Swansea and signed for his hometown club while working at the local docks. A proud Welshman he played 59 times for his country and in 1958 he played in the World Cup against Pele. He moved to Tottenham for a British record fee of ü¾Œ¶„¼35,000 and became a fully-fledged star - famously being part of the team that won the League and FA Cup double in 1960/61. He later lifted the European Cup Winner Cup and played over 400 times for the North London side.
