Connections by Gordon Lore
From the enticing shores of Chesapeake Bay to the White House, adventures off the coast of Ireland, Sweden, New Mexico, and Los Angeles, Connections is a sweeping, intimate panorama of a journalist's 50-year engagement with prominent celebrities. These include American Presidents, Members of Congress, a King, a former monarch, and film and television stars. The author's upbeat approach to life and people shines through his memorable interactions with actors, including James Cagney, Robert Mitchum, Rita Hayworth, Tom Hanks, Jodie Foster, and Daryl Hannah. He learned valuable lessons from folk singer legend and actor Burl Ives and pioneering ufologist Donald Keyhoe. They offered a unique personal education on how to embark on a successful career and a rewarding life. The payoff is a first-hand exposure to prominent personalities who have left a mark on our times. The reader will be mesmerized by this memoir written in clear, unpretentious and uplifting prose.
