Daughter of the Territory by Jacqueline Hammar
An epic story of love, adventure and survival in the wilds of the Northern Territory.
Jacqueline Hammar was born in Darwin in 1929 and lived in various remote bush settlements with her parents. Sent off to boarding school in Darwin when she was five, thence to Brisbane with the outbreak of the Second World War, Jacqueline couldn't wait to head back to her beloved Territory. After moving to the Top End in her twenties she met and married stockman Ken Hammar. Now in their eighties, Jacqueline and Ken live in the hinterland of the Gold Coast. They have two adult children and several grandchildren.
