Halka Chronic graduated from Columbia University with a degree in geology in 1949. From teaching at Haile Sellassie University in Ethiopia to establishing Geologic Landmarks for the United States, her profession carried her all over the world. In the southern Rockies, the National Park Service is active. She worked as an editor and raised her daughters in Boulder, Colorado for more than thirty years.
