Dietrich Bonhoeffer by Eberhard Bethge

Lutheran theologian, Deitrich Bonhoeffer, began his academic career in the early 1930s. He founded the Confessing Church when the Nazis began to take control of the church in the 1930s. As this was crushed he became involved in a plot to assassinate Hitler, but was arrested in 1943. He was executed shortly before the end World War II. This biography, by his closest friend, shows Bonhoeffer as a family man as well as a theologian and ecumenist.
