Dana Facaros has loved Greece since she was 14 years old, when she spent a summer on her father's native island of Ikaria. She has been traveling and writing about the country since 1977, when she created her first guidebook, to the Greek islands, after studying ancient Greek, mythology, and the classics during a brief stay at university. She then collaborated with Linda Theodorou on the Cadogan guide to all of Greece, which was published in 2003. She has since become a Greek citizen and contributes to the Sunday Times and Sunday Times Travel Magazine on a regular basis.
