Dog Tricks by Debra Eldredge Dvm

People love to see dogs do funny and useful tricks, such as playing basketball, picking up toys, and putting down the toilet lid. Idiot's Guides: Dog Tricks demonstrates more than 80 popular tricks with detailed, step-by-step instructions and eye-catching full-color photographs. The book provides helpful information on using positive training, rewards, cues, and body language to facilitate training.
Debra Eldredge, DVM, graduated from Cornell University, where she was the first recipient of the Gentle Doctor Award, a prize given by the clinical faculty for the best patient care. She is a past president of the Dog Writers Association of America and an award-winning author of more than 20 books on pets, including Your Labrador Retriever Puppy Month by Month, cowritten with Terry Albert.

Kate Eldredge grew up training and showing dogs, so writing about them was inevitable. She has competed in a variety of dog sports with her dogs and likes to use tricks to keep them alert and motivated. She is an award-winning writer who has written articles and columns for several dog magazines and is the author of three books: Head of the Class: A Teen Dog Expert Teaches You to Raise and Train the Perfect Pal, Amazing Pet Tricks, and Gotta Love Dogs.
